2022 Winter Praises

Sponsoring Global Leadership Academy (GLA) students is a new “project” launched this year and with South Africa’s school year starting in January, we’re making an end of the year push to get incoming and existing students sponsored. Two local Jeffrey’s Bay students have already been sponsored this year and we’re looking for more in 2023 to join-in. Would you help send young adults to this life-changing Christian and leading academic program in 2023? Better yet, partner with VSA to visit GLA in Jeffrey’s Bay and your sponsored student in person. There’s nothing like seeing what God’s doing through the hearts of young adults empowered with a Christian education and first-world teaching and technology at their fingertips.

This December, VSA has again agreed to brighten the homes of Door of Hope and Jehovah Jireh Haven during Christmas. This has been a long-standing campaign predating VSA’s establishment. Started by a handful of VSA members, Christmas gifts have been given to each and every orphan in both these homes. Providing for over 120 orphans is quite an accomplishment, will you help make it another blessed year, when all our orphans receive a Christmas package?

VSA and HuntSA have partnered with Pastor & Mamma Monese from Adelaide AFM Church ministering and feeding 500-700 families every Wednesday across three locations. Hunter’s from HuntSA have donated their meat harvests this season to AFM Church soup kitchens, which is a short drive north of Grootdraai Ranch. For most receiving sustenance from the Adelaide soup kitchens, this is the only nutritious meal they’ll eat all week. We’re looking forward to continuing this support next year, when another season of visitors visit the ranch.

HuntSA Grootdraai Ranch retreat center continues its construction, as VSA envisions housing volunteers and missionaries for respite and fellowship summits. Multiple teams have visited to develop this expansion and three more are coming next April to complete construction. Leadership training for local and missions pastors and leaders in ministry are invited to partake in ongoing training and assist leading classes. Reach out to a VSA representative if you’re interested or want more information.

This year’s hunting season at HuntSA brought a professional film crew from Canada to the ranch. Premiering in 2023, Angler Hunter TV will feature their visit to Grootdraai Ranch on their station. So what’s this mean for VSA? VSA will receive 10 hours of footage taken from  the additional time the crew spent visiting our sponsored schools and students. In four days, Rufus and team drove over 700 miles capturing footage at Alexandria Chritian Academy (ACA) and GLA (Global Leadership Academy). Future plans for this project include promotional VSA videos shareable throughout all platforms and provided to donors and advocates to distribute for fundraising and inspiration.
